Episode 34: 2017 Clean Energy Legislative Academy

In 2017, the Center for the New Energy Economy launched a first ever Legislative Academy. 24 legislators from around the country – including 17 chairs or co-chairs of energy committees attended the academy. This first installment describes the academy objectives and reflections on the first session in July. The second session takes place from September 12-15.

The Center for the New Energy Economy has just released the first version of our Clean Energy Policy Guide for State Legislatures. In this episode, we discuss the guide with two members of our research team Jane Culkin and Chris Edmonds.

Episode 6: New Mexico HB 267 Utility Cost Tests

In this episode, we discuss new legislation passed in New Mexico with Howard Geller of the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project. The legislation changes the basis of the energy efficiency cost effectiveness test. The Total Resource Cost Test is the standard throughout most of the country, but evidence shows that it may not be the most accurate representation of cost and other alternative tests may be more appropriate.
